Under this program, the students will deliver a talk on the book they like. The reading of the book is the precondition.
One period in a week will be spared for this talk. Minimum 3 students (5 minutes each, total 15 minutes) in each class will give a talk during this time.
After talks by students, the teacher will summarize the session’s proceedings in 5 minutes.
The talk will be followed by a Question-Answer session. Students shall be encouraged for the same. This will be a live session and should interest all.
Every student should get a chance to speak on the book that he/she likes. This again will be a self motivating process because seeing their classmates speak and raise questions, the other students will also get motivated to read.
Teachers will encourage and guide students to speak on books on different subjects covering different topics and will help them to select books.
Remember:
| | | This is not an elocution competition and hence the teacher will not insist that students give a talk without referring to their notes or book. If a child forgets his speech, he can refer to his note and can even read aloud his speech without any fear or hesitation. | | The aim is not the expression of oration but expression of thoughts about the book that he/she likes and basically the reading of the book. | | The talks will also be held at “all school” level and selected Best performers will address the whole school once in a month. This will go a long way and all students will get a rich experience and profuse inspiration. | | | | | | | |
